How to Cultivate Heartfulness for Personal Transformation

AUDIO PODCAST

Dr. Alane Daugherty PhD shares with GoGreenInside® the science-based, transformational process she has developed to help people intentionally cultivate healing and healthy emotional and spiritual states.

Working from the idea that the heart is a vehicle for transformation, she has created a set of practices and exercises for experiencing and cultivating “heartfulness” in times of anxiety and stress, or other chaotic emotional states.

The three elements of these practices involve:

Noticing –
Noticing any reactivity coming up, taking a few intentional breaths and witnessing the feeling without blame or judgment

Refocusing –
Bringing yourself fully present, through breathing and relaxing the eyes, shoulder and chest

Nurturing –
Nurturing a state of emotional balance through memory, intentionally cultivating the feeling of an emotion that you find nurturing, including self love or self acceptance
