Essential Self-Care Tools for Challenging Times

Thursday, December 7th, 2017
7-9 pm

How do you stay grounded, focused and even hopeful in the midst of chaos? How you can feel nourished and energized as we head into the darkest and often most stressful time of the year?

Join Keren Brown of GoGreenInside and Diane Young of Circle of One Healing for this two-hour interactive dialogue and workshop. We’ll talk about the challenges and opportunities presented to (midlife) women at this pivotal time in history, and offer a series of simple but powerful self-care tools to help you honour your natural rhythms over the coming holiday and winter season, and thrive in turbulent times – so you can rise!

You’ll have the opportunity to experience and reflect on each of the tools during the workshop, share your own tips, and come away with some clear strategies to give you increased clarity, grounding and vitality going forward.

Cost: $20 at the door / $15 in advance
Reserve your spot early! Space is limited to only 10.

A Space to Write

WINTER Monthly Sessions (series or drop-in)
NEXT SERIES begins Sunday, January 22nd, 2017 — more dates to be announced

All sessions are 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Join one, some or all!

Ever tried to write undistracted and undisturbed at your local coffee shop? Fighting for a seat. Or trying to keep one and feeling guilty about not buying another latte and croissant. And what if you wish to stretch, move, meditate or feel your way through your writing?

You could stay home and write. But will you? Or will you make excuses and do laundry (or just about anything else) instead?

A Space to Write gives you both the freedom to write your way and a dedicated time and space so you’re sure to commit.

We meet for 2 hours at a centrally located studio in Toronto with our journals, notebooks or devices. Curl up with cushions and blanket on the beautiful wood floor or take a seat at the table and pour your creative heart onto the page. Apart from a short, optional intention setting circle and some gentle movement at the beginning of the session, and an optional closing circle/sharing at the end, the time is unstructured. Yoga mats and bolsters are available if you wish to stretch out, and meditation and movement (whenever and however you feel called) are encouraged to deepen your writing exploration.

Location: Dream Yoga Dance Studio, 371 Danforth Avenue, lower level (across from Chester subway station)

Finding Your INNER Rhythm

A Mini-Retreat/Workshop for Women

Sunday, October 2, 2016

The Continental Dance Club, 3141 Wharton Way, Mississauga (a short distance from Kipling subway station)

Come and be nourished, explore your creativity and learn tools to optimize your health and wellbeing within a welcoming and encouraging circle of women. Enjoy stimulating discussion and exercises designed to help you reconnect to yourself, unplug and recharge. To support this exploration, we will work with gentle to moderate free-form dance (no prior dance experience required; suitable for all levels). We will also work with the breath, meditation and creative visualization to reconnect with our deepest nature, align ourselves more to our own natural rhythm and the rhythm of the season.
