How to Create a Life of Purpose and Passion
Did you know that you have a purpose for being here? And that you have something of value to contribute to the world?
How many of you say to yourself, “When the children grow up, that’s when I’ll get around to doing something for myself?” Perhaps you think that when you retire, or when you make more money, you will do all the things you have put off? Or that if you win the lottery, then you will be able to live the life of your dreams?
Your chances in winning the lottery are about 1 in 14 million, and about one-third of lottery winners lose their money within the first five years.
Your ability to create an authentic vision for your life and to live a life filled with purpose, passion, inspiration and contribution is within your reach at any time you choose. If it is truly an authentic vision then your chances of losing it are non-existent. But you will need to let go of your preconceived ideas about how it will come into manifestation.
I recently heard a statistic that one-third of Americans are dissatisfied with their lives. They ask, “Is this all there is for me?” and think, “I didn’t realize being an adult was going to be like this.” It feels like life is happening to them, versus through them – as if their life were happening by default.
By contrast, having a vision for your life is soul driven, purpose driven. It is about creating your life with meaning and contributing to the betterment of this world.
The truth is that none of us will rise higher than the vision we hold for our lives. The creation of all great lives begins with a vision.
Vision is a function of your heart. It is a source of hope, the seed of faith, the foundation of courage, the fuel for you taking action to live in a way that expresses your purpose.
What you are experiencing in your life right now is a reflection of what is happening with your thoughts, feelings and beliefs about yourself. When you create a vision, you are affirming and consciously choosing how you desire to live your life.
It’s time to stop waiting. Why not get started right now?
Tips for creating a vision for your life
To discover your purpose, make a list of what you value and is most meaningful to you. This will help you understand your unique gifts and talents.
- Vision/imagine what your life would look and feel like if you were living your life abundantly, authentically and with meaning and purpose.
- Create daily affirmations that support you in believing in your ability to live your dreams.
- Take action each day that will bring you one step closer to your vision.
- Say, “thank you!” and bless the goodness in your life.
- Enjoy the journey each and every day! Often we are too busy and taking life so seriously we forget to have fun.
